Brisbane QLD Australia

In February 2003 the Beenleigh PCYC started on an ambitious project to establish a working FM radio station at the Alamein Street premesis (Brisbane QLD Australia) offering a voice to the youth of our community.

The initial plan was to set up a training program so that the station could be run by the young members, and did that with the commencement of The Radio Club program. Sixteen young people between 14 and 30 years of age undertook the first training program and it was an instant success with incredible achievements being made by everyone who was part of the Radio Team.

I was very fortunate to stumble across an entry form to be a guest Dj on a main stream Brisbane local radio station, being one of many winners this was the catalyst re-sparking a passion for music but on a different note.  Being a part of the initial training program at BFM 87.6 in February 2003 opened my eyes to the different aspects of this industry.
